I'd dreamed of owning a horse my entire life but it took me until I was in my fifties to get my horse, my beautiful, sweet pinto, Rocky who is shown in the photo with me. Sadly I lost him on Easter Sunday to some kind of small intestine lesion or tumor that came on with no warning. He was fine the day before and within 11 hours of the onset of symptoms, I had to let him go despite having had the vet out immediately and getting him to the hospital within an hour of his presenting colic symptoms.
I miss my horse terribly. We did it all together from horse dancing to western pleasure, equitation, ranch horse riding, trail classes and even dressage. I'm looking for another horse to love and enjoy. I know I will never replace my special, once in a lifetime horse, but have lots of love and attention to give a new horse. I want to keep the age under 10 or 11, want a registered horse, quarter horse type, mare or gelding and gentle enough for an old lady to ride but with enough go to be fun. My Rocky was lots of fun. He was 25 going on 2. The only thing he didn't like was trail riding. Otherwise he was PERFECT.
